Privacy Policy

Miura Modernization ("we," "us," "our") is a one-operator consulting firm owned by AJ Miura. We help service businesses modernize their marketing funnels. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors to miuramodernization.com, users of our free AI SEO audit tool, and people who text or call our business phone line, and what we do with that information.

The short version: we collect the minimum we need to run the service, we don't sell your data, and we don't send marketing emails you didn't ask for.

1. What we collect

1.1 Information you give us directly

Audit tool submissions: your name, company website URL, and email address. Submitted when you request a free AI SEO audit on our homepage.
Calendar bookings: your name, email, and any information you provide in booking form fields when you schedule a call via Calendly.
SMS and phone: your phone number, the content of your messages or call, and any information you volunteer during the conversation.
Direct email: anything you send to aj@miuramodernization.com.

1.2 Information collected automatically

Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site traffic (pages viewed, approximate location by city, device type, referring source). IP addresses are anonymized.
Server logs: standard web-server logs — IP, user agent, request path, timestamp — retained up to 30 days for security and debugging.
Rate-limit state: we hash your email when you submit the audit tool and store the hash in our rate-limit store for 24 hours to prevent abuse. We do not store the plaintext email for this purpose.

2. How we use it

To deliver the service you requested (generate and email your audit, reply to your message, run your booked call).
To add you, if you submitted the audit tool, to our Resend mailing list. You may receive occasional short-form updates from us (examples: case studies, new deliverables, things we've learned). You can unsubscribe at any time with one click using the link in every email.
To respond to inquiries you send us by email, phone, or SMS.
To measure and improve the site.
To meet legal, accounting, and security obligations.

3. SMS and phone communications

Message and data rates may apply. Messages are sent and received through Twilio, a third-party communications provider. Frequency varies with conversation; you'll typically receive fewer than five messages per session initiated by you. Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages from our number; reply HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

If you text or call our business number, your messages are processed by Twilio for transmission and may be handled by an AI assistant (built on Anthropic's Claude model) that replies on AJ's behalf. A full transcript of the conversation is stored on our infrastructure (Upstash Redis, with a 30-day retention), and is accessible to AJ personally. We do not use SMS content to train AI models and we do not share SMS content with any third party except Twilio (for transmission) and Anthropic (for generating replies). You can request deletion of your transcript at any time by emailing aj@miuramodernization.com.

4. Who we share it with

We use the following third-party service providers to run the business. Each processes only the data necessary to perform its role:

Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions.
Anthropic — generates AI SEO audits and SMS replies via the Claude API. Anthropic does not train on API data by default.
Resend — sends audit emails and stores your email address in our mailing audience.
Upstash — Redis store used for rate limiting and SMS thread state.
Twilio — SMS and voice transmission.
Google (Analytics + Fonts) — traffic measurement and font delivery.
Calendly — call scheduling.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share information with advertisers.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies — primarily Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) — plus browser localStorage to remember that you've dismissed the audit-tool pop-up so we don't show it again. We do not use advertising cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings; doing so will not affect site functionality.

6. Your rights

You can:

Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion.
Unsubscribe from marketing email (one click in any message).
Opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP.

Send any request to aj@miuramodernization.com. We'll act on it within 30 days.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. API keys and tokens are stored in Vercel's encrypted environment variable system. We use industry-standard practices but no system is 100% secure — if a breach affects you, we'll tell you.

8. Children

The service is for business owners and is not directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors.

9. International users

Miura Modernization is based in the United States. If you use the service from outside the US, your information is transferred to and processed in the US.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the underlying services change. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance.
